I’d been eyeing Snap Foto Club ever since they opened in December 2019, and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to visit. When I won free admission in an Instagram draw, I knew we had to go! They were running a special at the time for $19 1-hour admission, so it was super reasonable for Holden and I to go together and snap some photos.
Snap Foto Club is a self-serve photography studio (created by local photographers!) that offers amazing + unique backdrops, fun props and even “Instagram husbands” to take pictures for you if needed. It’s located on Stephen Avenue in downtown Calgary (at #200-118 8th Avenue SW). They’ve switched up their packages for the Christmas season, so please check online for current prices, timeslots and offerings – individual tickets are set to return in the new year.
I wasn’t sure how we’d fill an hour there, but the time went by insanely fast, and I definitely need to go back again to explore further and get some more shots (hopefully with my sister this time, as she would love this photo warehouse as well). Our timeslot allowed us full access to the studio with no other guests present, and the staff kept to themselves, other than to check in periodically to see if we needed any help and to warn us when our hour was almost up. It was a really fun experience and, because there was no one else around, I didn’t feel awkward or lame taking IG-worthy photos at all!
